The Orbz duking it out, as usual, in preparation for Undercover Weekend 5!

Every time we emerged from the practice space for Undercover Weekend, I would say ‘I feel like I just got out of the gym!”

For those of you that missed it, last The Orbz transformed themsleves into Stone Temple Pilots!

Great reviews from last night are coming in, and not just for us, but for the whole night! I’m really excited to hear the Jump Starts after they nailed the Violent Femmes. The Breaks did a killer job as The Strokes, and Interpol was great covering False Moves. For me the winner of the night was Troubador Dali. As they plowed through tracks off od Sonic Youth’s “Dirty” I had a big smile on my face.

Corey Woodruff sat in for Chris on this one, and while we missed C-Luck, Mr. Woodruff did a fine job!

Our setlist for those who missed it.

Vasoline

Interstate Love Song

Trippin’ On a Hole In a Paper Heart

Plush

Big Bang Baby

Sex Type Thing

This week, we return to Orbz material (and drumming with Chris!) full force – songwriting, studiosand shows! Look for us at the Warehouse on Jefferson with the ACB’s on October 7th!

Yes, yes, folks we’re doing it once again. No, not beating up Jason (we do that all the time anyway!)

I’m talking about Undercover Weekend 5, and the way we’re going to be coming off the top rope as Stone Temple Pilots!

If you remember our history, last year we did Iggy Pop & The Stooges – with Patrick Crecelius sitting in as David Bowie for a spell. The year before that, with a little help from our friends Greg Braun and Beth Bombara, we transformed ourselves into The Pixies. It’s megaphones and big bang, baby, as we dive into the sex type thing that is Weiland and crew! And of course, as fate would have it, we have a guest again! Corey Woodruff of Honeybadger is sitting in on drums for the evening. (Chris wishes he could make it, but he has to rock faces in a wedding party back home that weekend…we are bummed but even he said the show must go on!)

Will Jason come in drag? Will he overdose on stage? The only way to find out is to show up! Get your tickets September 10th here.

Here’s an STP tune to wet your whistle…
